I believe that everything happens for a reason. An advertisement for a junior trainee changed my career course from an aspiring hotel manager to a young trainee passionate about play. I completed my certificate three traineeship at a small 60 place centre before moving to work with Lisa at Smileys childcare in 2006. Throughout my career progression I have completed my Diploma in Children’s services, become a 2IC to the Centre Manager in a long day care setting and an OSHC service, before using this knowledge and experience recently to open Amici Early learning in 2017 as part of the Management team.

The childcare industry is continuously evolving which enriches my passion for working with children, Educators, and Families. I believe in lifelong learning and that you need to have the opportunity to challenge yourself, take risks and embrace change. I am also a wife, a mother of two boys and a bad cook.

Working with children has been something I have always wanted to do ever since I can remember. What initially started as a career in Primary Education, my passion quickly evolved towards the Early Years, as I realised how important this time was, and what a significant impact positive experiences and relationships can have on a child’s life. For the past ten years, I have worked for Lisa and the Godwin Group. I started as a trainee, and through study and experience, I have gained my Qualifications and progressed to a management role, where I managed Smileys Child Care Centre for 6 years, before opening Amici Early Learning alongside Amy in 2017. My passion for Early Childhood continues to grow; as I aim to offer the best possible experience every day and to create a secure and welcoming environment for all families and children that choose Amici.

And now since becoming a mother to two young boys myself, who definitely keep me very much on my toes, I am reminded daily how important Early Childhood Education and Care is for the children and their families, and what a positive influence it can have.
